Tournament Team Costs
Determining the cost for a season can be difficult with multiple teams. The budget is set and managed by the Head Coach, and overseen by our Treasurer. Each team's tournament cost will vary based on a few factors.
1. Number of tournaments - a 10U team may play in fall ball only during fall, where 12U-16/18U could play in either fall ball and additional tournaments, or just tournaments and not fall ball. Additionally, most 16U teams won't plan to play tournaments during the Spring (during High School season by OSAA regulations), but 10U-14U teams will. 10U-14U could be Fall, Spring, Summer, where 16/18U could be Fall and Summer only.
2. Number of players on the roster - The overall cost is typically split across each player
3. Sanction of tournaments (NAFA, USA, USSSA, PFG, Triple Crown, Alliance, etc) - The low end per tournament could be $500 where another could be $2500+
4. Fundraising efforts - The Fireballs offer 2 different fundraisers throughout the year to help offset costs for all of our players. One is a wreath fundraiser, which kicks off usually late October and a Spring fundraiser selling flower baskets. Team may or may not choose to participate in the fundraisers, but they are available to all.
5. Team Sponsors - Should a player or team solicit local businesses for sponsorships, this could also help offset costs for the player, or even the entire team.
6. Travel - Younger teams (10/12U) typically play mostly local tournaments (no hotel stays) with possibly 1-2 hotel weekends. 14/16/18U should be planning to travel slightly more depending on schedule.14U should plan to travel for 2 tournaments and 16/18U could have plans to travel 3-5 times for the entire year.

A conservative estimate for a 10/12U team would be $600-1200 for the year, before fundraising/sponsorship and travel.
A conservative estimate for a 14U team would be $800-$1600 for the year, before fundraising/sponsorship and travel.
A conservative estimate for a 16/18U team would be $1000-$2000 for the year, before fundraising/sponsorship and travel.
These estimates are just that, estimates. They will vary based on the factors outlined above. Please speak with your Head Coach of the team for additional information and their plan for the upcoming season.

Please note, estimates do not include Fall Registration ($100) or Spring Registration ($200) fees paid to the Fireballs organization.
